Street Team

The Street Team is out and about the streets of Cambridge deploying interactive activities and administering surveys to get public feedback on the plan.  Learn more about the street team.

 

 Envision Cambridge Newspaper

Featuring maps, data, history, fun facts, portraits of public spaces, and interviews with community members, the Envision Cambridge Newspaper provides updates on the planning process, highlights planning and policy issues, and offers in-depth stories about our community.

 

 Panel Discussions

Our panel discussions allow for in-depth public conversations between community members, the consultant team, and planning experts.

 

Public Workshops

Envision Cambridge hosts public workshops to learn from the community on citywide topics.

 

Community Engagement Team

We are working with the City’s Community Engagement Team (CET) to reach underserved Cambridge families through focus groups and surveys. The CET’s outreach workers are community members from the American-born Black, Bangladeshi, Chinese, Ethiopian, Haitian, Somali, Spanish and Arabic speaking communities.

Both online and paper surveys are used to get feedback on the plan.

 

Digital Engagement

To reach people who cannot always attend in-person meetings, Envision Cambridge uses a digital engagement tool to facilitate community discussions online. The tool visually summarizes what the community thinks and why. Learn how to engage with this tool.

 

Focus Groups

Envision Cambridge holds regular focus with hard-to-reach communities, including racial and ethnic minorities, millennials, youth, and seniors.

 

Walking Tours 

Envision Cambridge led urban planning walking tours along Massachusetts Avenue and Cambridge Street. The tours explored how City policies and planning have shaped our corridors, with a focus on urban form, housing, and mobility.

 

Envision Cambridge Advisory Committee and Working Groups

The Envision Cambridge Advisory Committee is as a sounding board for planning topics and ideas and helps set priorities for the plan. The diverse committee consists of residents, property owners, and representatives of local businesses and institutions.

The Envision Alewife Working Group helps guide the Alewife district study and develop comprehensive and actionable recommendations for the area.

The Engagement & Communications Working Group is a topic-focused group that provides guidance and advice on how the citywide plan can best engage the entire community and ensure that dialogue is representative of the city’s diversity.

The Housing, Climate and Environment, Economy, and Mobility Working Groups are tasked with developing topic-specific recommendations towards goals identified during the planning process.
